LOL! =) Now you just need a bunch of people telling you if it's really neccessary to rant about it and if you have to, then do it with dignity. I hope to hear why...
Na, I left the rant out since others have taken care of that for me, and I've learned from experience that people don't like blog girls to have their own mind.
The reason though is what they're doing to a lot of the international girls. I guess you aren't included since you don't much like OPI, but they're "telling" all the e-tailers to stop selling them. I think that's an incredibly stupid move and they'll lose shit loads of money for it. I guess I'm not getting anymore either if they stop cause I'm not paying retail for it!
I think that they're afraid of losing their 'it' polish status if they're sold under retail at the E-tail shops. Thing is, they already lost it. Companies like Illamasqua, RBL and Lippmann are moving in and taking a big chunk of the high end business away from them. They aren't losing any money because the 'unauthorized' sellers are still getting the polish from OPI, just in a round about way but it does make them look less exclusive. Boohoo. I notice they aren't taking on big, bad Amazon and they have lots of OPI sellers with filed off serial numbers. No loss to me because I don't even like OPI (too chippy on natural nails), but they will lose a ton of business from people who won't pay $8 to $10 a bottle. Bet you a buck their prices are up to at least $12 by the end of the year. Gotta keep up with the competition.

ReplyDeleteYou hit the nail on the head. They haven't cracked down on the ebay sellers either. Give it up OPI, you're no longer the epitomy of high end.
ReplyDeleteI actually think OPI sucks and is of inferior quality to most polishes I have tried (high and low end) so I am happy to see them boycotted LOL
