Both of these are at 3 coats.
Daddy's Girl, Purple Pizzazz, Daddy's Girl, Purple Pizzazz |
The verdict: Daddy's Girl has better application and is cheaper. It also has no VNL and actually sparkles, wow! Now, I'm being kinda hard on Purple Pizzazz and although it looks flat and boring in these pictures, it's really not. It's purty too.
Something else I noticed is, but that's off-topic is that Orly has apparently asked the e-tailers to raise their price cause now they cost $3.75. If I'm correct they used to be $3.18 or $3.50. I hope China Glaze doesn't get all big headed over this OPI sh*t now too and raise their prices. These brands like Orly and China Glaze need to realize that without the e-tailers and the women who blog about them and give these sites most of their traffic, they wouldn't make near as much money as they do. (run on?) I never knew either of these brands until I started my addiction and I guarantee I never would have. Which is a shame cause CG is probably my favorite brand and Orly is really nice too. /end rant
wow i didn't realize these were so similar!
ReplyDeleteI have these two (still untried) and they do look very similar in the bottle.
ReplyDeleteAbout the rant: I really like Orly and at least the price increase is not as bad as Essie. I don't think I'll ever pay $8 for it; their loss.
I know. I think Essie is banished to only being bought in mini packs by me.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, how many Essie colors have you ever really wanted all that bad? They're way too boring for me. Even when they were only $4 I only ever bought one (Midnight Cami). I'm going to be looking for Daddy's Girl. I miss a lot of good drugstore polish just because I don't go to the drugstore.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I only own 3 Essies. Lollipop, MCA and Van D'Go. It's the principle of it though. Just like I didn't own tons of OPIs before they cut us off, but I still don't like that they pulled off the e-tailers. I found Daddy's Girl at Walgreens, so start there.
ReplyDeleteThere was a 'holiday' ad from Walgreen's in the paper today. 99¢ Sinful polish, limit 3.
ReplyDeleteBoth are untried for me so thank you for the swatches - at least I know what I'm eventually going to get into. :) Both are beautiful, though! I love purples.
